A Swiss trekking bike that is chain-driven and still requires no maintenance.
It’s already a while ago I stumbled upon this Swiss brand: Katz Bikes. They’re like a bicycle ‘goldsmith’: they make astonishingly simple and beautiful bicycles (only 3 different models up till now). This is their ‘trekking’ model, which they call ‘Reif’. If you don’t like the color, don’t worry. There’s 15 RAL-colors to choose from.
The bike has all the best components: Rohloff hub, Magura Louise Disc Brakes, … But what is particularly striking about all three Katz bikes, is the unique chain guard which keeps moist and mud outside and grease off your pants. Apparently, it comes off without any tools. And so does the rear wheel.
